Tata Harrier.ev Launched In India At Rs 21.49 Lakh

Tata Motors has finally launched the highly anticipated Harrier EV (called Harrier.ev), with prices starting from Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Like other Tata EVs, the Harrier.ev is also available with two battery packs: 65 kWh (Medium Range) and 75 kWh (Long Range). However, it gets the brand’s first AWD setup.

Its bookings will open start from July 2nd, 2025.

Tata Harrier EV – Design and Features

The Tata Harrier EV looks similar to its ICE counterparts, except for a few EV-specific design changes like a redesigned bumper with vertical slats, a blanked-out grille with horizontal lines, aero-optimised alloy wheels and a reworked rear bumper with vertical slats that mimic the front unit. It also gets ‘.EV’ badge on the front doors and ‘HARRIER.EV’ lettering on the tailgate to further differentiate it from its ICE version.

Regarding features, the Harrier EV comes equipped with amenities like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone auto AC, powered front seats with ventilation & memory functions, type-c 65W charging, power Boss mode, multi-colour ambient lighting, auto-park assist, reverse assist, digital key support, and a ‘Summon Mode’, which is a remote parking feature that lets you move the car forward or backward using just the keyfob. It also gains EV-specific capabilities like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology.

On the safety front, it comes loaded with 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake with auto hold, both front and rear parking sensors as well as a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

Tata Harrier EV: Powertrain Options

Like Tata Curvv.ev, the Tata Harrier EV is also based on the carmaker’s Acti.ev dedicated electric vehicle platform and comes in two powertrain options: Medium Range (65 kWh) and Long Range (75 kWh). These variants get varying battery packs and power outputs, delivering a claimed range of up to 627 km. What’s more interesting is that it benefits from the brand’s first all-wheel drivetrain (combined output of 291PS/504Nm), with supporting features like off-road assist, transparent mode in the 360-degree camera, boost mode, rock crawl mode, mud ruts mode and drive modes like Snow & Eco.

  • All-Wheel Drive: Tata’s first AWD EV, providing better traction on all surfaces.
  • Off-Road Assist: Optimises grip and stability during light off-road driving.
  • Transparent View Camera: Displays terrain beneath the vehicle for safer off-roading.
  • Boost Mode: Offers instant power for quick acceleration.
  • Rock Crawl Mode: Maintains control over uneven rocky terrain.
  • Mud Ruts Mode: Helps maintain momentum through muddy or slippery paths.
  • Snow Mode: Adjusts traction control for driving on snow or ice.
  • Eco Mode: Maximises efficiency and extends driving range.

When it comes to charging, a 7.2kW AC charger can juice up its battery pack from 10-100 percent in 10.7 hours, while a 120kW DC fast charger will take around 25 minutes for 20-80 percent.
