Mahindra To Unveil A New Platform On August 15

Mahindra Automotive is reported to be gearing up for a major announcement this Independence Day with the global unveiling og a new platform called “New Flexible Architecture (NFA)”. This highly versatile platform is expected to serve as the foundation for a new generation of Mahindra vehicles, with the first model likely to roll out in 2026. Mahindra will manufacture this modular platform at its Chakan-based new facility.

The New Flexible Architecture (NFA) will be a monocoque, multi-energy platform that will support all ICE, hybrid and electric powertrains. The brand is expected to spawn a number of new vehicles on this architecture. While it’s not official, the next-generation Mahindra Bolero, which is scheduled to arrive in 2026, is expected to be based on the NFA. This would mark a significant transformation for one of Mahindra’s most iconic nameplates, likely bringing in an electric version as well. This shift to a monocoque chassis from the current ladder-frame chassis could also signal a more urban-friendly, feature-rich evolution of this rugged SUV.

This could bring advancements in ride comfort, structural rigidity and safety. Additionally, it will also allow Mahindra to streamline development across multiple drivetrains.

More details about the models, specs, and future roadmap are anticipated during the official unveiling on August 15, 2025.

In other news, Mahindra has recorded 18% year-on-year growth in April 2025, registering a total sales of 84,170 units. It has also acquired a 58.96% stake in SML Isuzu Ltd at ₹650 per share to increase its presence in the commercial vehicle segment. Head here for more details.
