You Can Now Officially Book The Volkswagen Golf GTI

  • Official bookings open for the Golf GTI.
  • Will be brought via the CBU route.
  • Deliveries will start from next month.

If you’ve been waiting for the Volkswagen Golf GTI, we have some good news for you. The German carmaker has started accepting its bookings both online and offline ahead of its official launch in the coming weeks. Its deliveries are set to commence from June 2025.

Since the Golf GTI will be brought via the CBU route, we expect Volkswagen to price it at around Rs 45-50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Volkswagen Golf GTI – Powertrain

The Golf GTI is all about the engaging driving experience. At the heart of this hot hatch will be a 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 265 PS of max grunt and 350 Nm of peak torque, enabling it to complete the century sprint in just 5.9 seconds before attaining a top speed of 250 kmph. The drive is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

Design and Features

The upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI flaunts the brand’s sporty yet subtle design philosophy. It features a sharp, aerodynamic silhouette with signature GTI elements like the red stripe above the width-spanning LED light bar and the GTI badge on the grille. There are also the illuminated VW logo, sleek LED matrix headlamps with dynamic turn indicators, five-pod X-shaped LED fog lamps, and GTI-specific 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, all adding to its sporty quotient.

Inside, the Golf GTI gets a clean but layered dashboard, wrapped in an all-black theme with contrasting red stitching. Other notable bits include a floating 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel with red stitching, ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, and signature GTI tartan-patterned sports seats, all adding to its visual appeal.

For creature’s comfort and convenience, the Golf GTI is kitted with amenities like three-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display (HUD), 6-speaker sound system, 30-colour ambient lighting, heated front seats, and even a Chatgpt AI assistant.

For safety, it gets seven airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, front & rear parking sensors, and a level-2 ADAS suite, comprising driver assist features like travel assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), active blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, emergency assist, lane assist and much more.

Once launched, the Golf GTI will lock horns with the Mini Cooper S in the Indian market.
