Skoda Kushaq, Slavia and Kylaq Recalled In India

After Volkswagen, its sister brand Skoda has also announced a recall for its three main models – the Slavia, Kushqq and Kylaq. 25,722 units of these aforementioned models are affected by the recall, manufactured between 24 May 2024 and 1 April 2025.

The recall concerns a potential safety issue affecting rear-seat passengers. In the event of a frontal collision, the latch plate of the rear seatbelt buckle could break, and the webbing of the rear centre seatbelt, as well as the buckle of the rear right seatbelt, may fail.

Skoda is yet to put out an official announcement on this matter. The company is expected to contact customers of the affected units soon and is likely to fix the issue free of cost. Until then, we recommend avoiding the use of the rear seats for safety reasons.

For those unaware, all of these models come equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, reverse parking sensors, reverse camera and more. Combined with the sturdy MQB-A0-IN platform, these safety features have helped all three earn a 5-star safety rating.

Skoda offers the Kylaq between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh, while the Kushq ranges from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 19.01 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Slavia is priced between Rs 10.34 – 18.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
