Kia Syros compact SUV has been launched in India, with prices starting from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Its bookings are already underway, and deliveries will start in mid-February.

For those unaware, the Kia Syross sits between the Sonet and Seltos in the brand’s product lineup. The Sonet is priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 15.70 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Seltos ranges between Rs 11.13 lakh and Rs 20.51 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kia Syros: Design and Features
Design-wise, the Syros looks very distinctive from other sub-4m SUVs, boasting a unique boxy, tall-boy design that draws inspiration from the Kia EV9 and EV3 SUVs. It features a rugged and muscular vibe. The brand has offered it in eight colour options: Aurora Black Pearl, Frost Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive and Sparkling Silver.
Inside, the Syros boasts a premium cabin with a dual-tone interior theme available in three options. Enhancing the ambience are 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a spacious second row with ventilation, sliding, and recline functions for rear passengers.
Feature-wise, it comes equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front and rear seats, a wireless charger, a powered driver’s seat, and more.
On the safety front, the Syros includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, three-point seat belts for all passengers, traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, a dual dashcam setup, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level-2 ADAS.
Kia Syros: Powertrain
Kia offers the Syros with 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol and 116PS 1.5-litre diesel engines. While a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, the petrol engine can also be had with a 7-speed DCT unit. On the other hand, the oil burner gets an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

In the sub-4m SUV segment, the Kia Syros can be seen as a premium alternative to the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Sonet.
