The 9th-generation Toyota Camry executive sedan will launch in India on December 11, 2024. It will be locally assembled in the country.
For those unaware, the ninth-generation Toyota Camry has already been revealed in international markets. It gets a completely overhauled appearance, feature-packed cabin, a strong-hybrid powertrain and a retuned suspension setup.
The 2025 Toyota Camry features a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with the brand’s 5th-gen hybrid system (THS 5), comprising two electric motors. It makes 223PS of max power with a front-wheel driver setup and 235PS with an all-wheel-drive setup. Toyota claims the AWD system enhances traction when needed, such as during adverse weather conditions or while cornering. Both powertrains are paired with an electronic CVT and a lithium-ion battery.
Design-wise, it features a new hammerhead front facia with sleek LED headlamps, C-shaped LED DRLs, new alloy wheels (18 to 19 inches size available) and a large radiator grille. It also receives two refreshed colour schemes: Heavy Metal and Ocean Gem.
While the exterior design takes a bold leap forward, the cabin of the new Camry retains Toyota’s signature elements, featuring a familiar dual-display setup, a classic Toyota steering and a well-known centre console layout. The brand also offers a range of colour themes as well as distinct upholstery options. The other notable additions and features include: –
- 12.3-inch infotainment
- 12.3-inch digital cluster
- Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto
- Wireless charging pad
- 10-inch heads-up display
- 9-speaker JBL sound system
- Leather seats
- Heated & ventilated seats
- Memory function for side mirrors and driver’s seat
- Dual-zone AC
- Rear AC vents
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Panoramic sunroof
- Seatback screens
- Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 pack (ADAS suite)
The current model of the Toyota Camry Hybrid is priced at Rs 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect the new model to command a significant price premium over the ongoing model. Once launched, it will continue to go up against the Skoda Superb.
