MG Gloster Snowstorm and Desertstorm Editions Launched

The MG Gloster has received two new variants – Snowstorm and Desertstorm, joining the Blackstorm in the Storm lineup of special editions. Based on the SUV’s top-spec Savvy variant, these new models receive a few visual enhancements over the standard model.

MG Gloster Snowstorm and Desertstorm Editions – What’s New?

  • The MG Gloster Snowstorm Edition comes wrapped in dual-tone Pearl White and Black shades, while the Desertstorm Edition is painted in Deep Golden.
  • Similar to the Blackstorm Edition, both these models feature a blacked-out finish for the grille and alloy wheels. They also get robust door cladding and red accents on the headlamps.
  • The Desertstorm Edition also gets red accents on the front & rear skid plates and side mirrors.
  • Customers can also opt for dealer-fitted accessories, including Desertstorm and Snowstorm badges, seat massagers, themed carpet mats, dashboard mats, and 12-speaker JBL speakers.
  • Inside the cabin, these Storm editions feature an all-black theme, with the Snowstorm Edition featuring white stitchings on the seats and steering wheel.

Features On Offer

All these Storm Editions retain all the features of the Savvy variant, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, a ventilated driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite, including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and more.

No Mechanical Changes

The MG Gloster Desertstorm and Snowstorm Editions get the same 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine as the standard model with 215PS and 478Nm output. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive train (AWD).

The standard model also gets a 161PS 2-litre single turbo-diesel engine, mated to a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain.

Author’s Take

The new Snowstorm and Desertstorm variants in the MG Gloster’s Storm lineup aim to boost its appeal, which has lagged behind its rival, the Toyota Fortuner. These special editions offer unique styling, making them a compelling choice ahead of the upcoming facelift version.
