After launching the BMW M 1000 XR Competition last week, BMW Motorrad has now brought the 2024 edition of the S 1000 XR to our shores via the CBU route. This litre-class adventure tourer is priced at Rs 22.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and comes with several new changes. Here’s what the new 2024 BMW S 100 XR brings to the table: –
- A new front fairing with dual LED headlights | an adjustable windshield | body coloured fender | new side panels and air intakes inspired by motorsports.
- Redesigned seat for improved comfort and performance in both track riding and touring | seat height now set at 850mm (lower seat height option available).
- Reworked 999cc, in-line 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor | 170hp at 11,000rpm and 114Nm at 9250rpm | 5hp more than before.
- Top speed of 253 kmph | 0-100 in 3.25 seconds.
- Three colour options to choose from – Blackstorm metallic 2, Gravity blue metallic, and Light white/M Motorsport.
- There are three packages to choose from: the Touring package, the Dynamic package, and the M package. The former two packages are standard, whereas the M Package costs Rs 2.50 lakh.
- The Touring package includes a luggage carrier, centre stand, slot for a navigation device, hand protection, tyre pressure monitoring system, and heated grips.
- The Dynamic package includes dynamic ESA pro, shift assistant pro, and cruise control.
- The M package comprises the M Sport seat, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, sports silencer, tinted windscreen, black fuel filler cap, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, or optionally the M Carbon wheels. It is the only package that comes in the M Sport-themed white colour.
- In the premium tourer segment, the BMW S 1000 XR locks horns with the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin (Rs 15.97 – 17.51 lakh), Ducati Multistrada V2 (Rs 16.36 – 18.99 lakh), Ducati Multistrada V4 (Rs 21.48 – 31.48 lakh), and Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 Special (Rs 24.64 lakh).
