Mahindra Scorpio N Z4 and Z6 Loss Some Features

As part of IMCR (Integrated Material Cost Reduction) changes, Mahindra has made some cost-cutting changes to the Scorpio N SUV, especially affecting fractures in the lower variants, particularly the Z4 and Z6 variants. These changes apply to all orders from 1st January 2024 onwards.

What Are The Changes?

  • To start with, the cooled glovebox has been removed from the Mahindra Scorpio N Z4 and Z6 variants. However, higher-spec trims will retain this feature.

  • The biggest change comes for the mid-spec Scorpio N Z6 variant, which now gets a smaller 4-inch monochrome display in the instrument cluster, replacing the more premium 7-inch colour MID. Moreover, the Adrenox-connected car technology, as well as built-in Alexa support for voice-enabled commands, have also been removed. However, it continues to get a touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powertrain

Mahindra offers the Scorpio N with two engine options: a 2-litre turbocharged petrol (203PS/380Nm) and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel (up to 175PS/400Nm). Both are offered with the choice of 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. While a 2-wheel-drivetrain (2WD) is standard across the Scorpio Nโ€™s lineup, the 7-seater Z8 and Z8L diesel variants can also be had with a 4-wheel-drive system (4WD).

Price Range and Competitors

At present, Mahindra retails the Scorpio N between Rs 13.26 lakh and Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be seen as a more rugged alternative to the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.
