Bookings Open For Citroen C3 Aircross; Deliveries To Start Next Month

Citroen India has announced the launch of the automatic version of the C3 Aircross next week. Bookings are now open for a token amount of Rs 25,000, while deliveries will commence in the second half of February 2023.

Similar to its Indonesian-spec version, the C3 Aircross for India will also feature a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission sourced from Japanese gearbox manufacturer Aisin.

This new gearbox will be paired with the existing 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, delivering a maximum power output of 110PS and a peak torque of 190Nm. The vehicle is expected to return a fuel efficiency of 17.5 kmpl, 1 kmpl less than its manual counterpart.

According to the reports, only two variants of the Citroen C3 Aircross will receive automatic gearbox options. Expect them to command a premium of nearly Rs 1 lakh over their manual counterparts.

Rapid Insight Into The Citroen C3 Aircross

The C3 Aircross is essentially a three-row version of the Citroen C3 that comes in both 5- and 7-seater configurations, with the latter coming with removable last-row seats. The French marque offers it in three broad variants: You, Plus, and Max, priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 12.97 lakh (ex-showroom India).

Regarding features, the SUV comes loaded with basic features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, manual AC, roof-mounted rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, rear defogger, rear wiper & washer, dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors with camera, ESP and more.

In the Indian market, the Citroen C3 Aircross can be seen as an affordable alternative to the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and Mahindra Scorpio Classic.
