Last month, Mahindra announced a price hike for their models in the new year, and now, the carmaker has revealed the updated price list, with the Mahindra Thar experiencing a significant hike of up to Rs 34,699, which is applicable to the hard-top AX (O) diesel-manual AWD trim. On the other hand, the entry-level LX RWD hard-top petrol-automatic variant of the Thar witnesses the lowest price jump of Rs 22,899. With this, the Mahindra Thar is now priced from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

For those unaware, Mahindra offers the Thar with three engine options: โ 1.5-litre diesel, 2-litre mStallion petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. While the smaller oil burner only gets a 4ร2 drive system (rear-wheel-drive), the larger displacement diesel mill features a shift-on-the-fly 4ร4 drivetrain (4WD) with a manual shift transfer case as standard. On the other hand, the petrol engine comes with both 4ร2 and 4ร4 drivetrain options.
