2024 MG Astor Launched – More Affordable, Better Loaded

MG Motor India has updated the Astor with plenty of new features to make the mid-size SUV a more attractive package. The carmaker has also introduced a new entry-level Sprint variant at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than before. First, have a look at the revised variant-wise price list of the new Astor: –

New 2024 MG Astor Price List
  • As seen in the table above, MG Motor has revamped the entire variant line-up of the SUV, making the SUV Rs 84,000 more affordable by introducing the new Sprint variant.
  • The SUV’s Super and Smart versions are now Shine and Select, and the Sharp and Savvy models got an extra ‘Pro’ label, showing that the Astor now has more features than before.
  • Previously, the Astor’s top-spec turbo-petrol Savvy variant was priced at Rs 18.68 lakh. Now, the updated Savvy Pro trim is available at Rs 17.90 lakh, offering a significant Rs 78,000 reduction in price.

New Features

For 2024, the MG Astor will receive a host of new convenience features, including ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, electrochromic IRVM, wireless connectivity for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and a new user interface for the infotainment system. It also packs more robust connected car technology. MG has also made the 10.1-inch infotainment system standard across the variant lineup.

The rest of the features remain unchanged. The key highlights include a panoramic sunroof, 6-way powered driver’s seat, cruise control, auto AC, digital instrument cluster, up to 6 airbags, ESC, hill hold & descent assist, heated ORVMs, 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS suite.

Are There Any Mechanical Changes?

No changes have been made beneath the hood. The Astor continues to be offered with two engine options: – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (110PS/144Nm) paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT, and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine (140PS/220Nm) mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
