Kia India has discontinued the Moss Brown exterior colour option for the Carens. With this, the Korena MPV is now available in six body shades, comprising Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Glacier White Pearl and Gravity Grey. Kia is yet to confirm whether this axed hue will be replaced by a new body shade.
Apart from the modifications in Carens’ colour palette, no other changes have been made. It will continue to be offered in six variants: Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O) and Luxury Plus, priced between Rs 10.45 lakh and Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in both 6- and 7-seater layouts.

Kia offers the Carens with three engine options: a 1.5-litre NA petrol (115PS/144Nm) mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160PS/253Nm) which can be paired with either a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm) mated to 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Regarding features, the Kia Carens gets 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car technology, BOSE premium sound system, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, wireless charger, electric tumble 2nd-row seats, retractable front backseat tables (in 6-str version only), auto AC, rear AC vents, 64-colours ambient lighting, automatic LED headlamps and much more.
On the safety front, the Carens comes with standard six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX anchors, tyre pressure monitoring control, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, front & rear parking sensors and much more.
In the premium people mover segment, the Kia Carens faces competition from the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Ertiga and Toyota Rumion. It can also be seen as an affordable alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, and Maruti Suzuki Invito.
