Ola S1, S1 Pro Gets Expensive By Up To Rs 15,000


Ola Electric has announced the revised prices for the S1 and S1 Pro models due to the reduction in the FAME II subsidy that will take effect tomorrow. The prices have been increased by up to Rs 15,000.

  • As per the revised formula, the FAME II subsidy rate of Rs 15,000 per kWh has been revised down to Rs 10,000 per kWh. Furthermore, the maximum subsidy cap has also been reduced from 40% to 15% of the ex-factory price.
  • With the FAME 2 revision, the subsidy available on the S1 range has been dropped from Rs 59,550 to Rs 22,268.
  • Ola hasn’t updated the prices of the entry-level S1 Air, which comes with three battery pack options.
  • Surprisingly, the 2kWh variant of the Ola S1 has been delisted from the official website, leading to speculation that it may have been discontinued.
  • The range-topping S1 Pro continue to be offered with a 4 kWh battery pack, claiming a range of up to 181 km on a single charge.

Hero MotoCorp’s Vida, Bajaj, TVS and Ather are also expected to announce the revised prices of their products soon.
