Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Bolero To Get New Variants

Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to rejig the variant lineup of the Scorpio Classic and Bolero in the coming days. Both SUVs will also be upgraded to the upcoming Phase II of BS6 emission regulations.

According to reports, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic will receive a new S5 variant that will be positioned between the existing S and S11 variants. It is expected to be offered with both 7- and 9-seat options, with the latter featuring two-seater side-facing benches for the third row. On the other hand, the 7-seater setup gets a bench seat in the last row and an optional second-row captain seat. 

Expect the upcoming S5 variant of the Scorpio Classic to get features like body-coloured bumpers, powered ORVMs, a manual air conditioning system, an audio system, central locking, dual-front airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist and much more.

Speaking of the Mahindra Bolero, it will receive a new entry-level variant called ‘B2’, and thus it is expected to bring down the starting cost of the rugged SUV. Currently, it is available in B4, B6, and B6 (O) variants. 

Mechanically, both SUVs are expected to remain unchanged. For reference, Mahindra offers the Scorpio Classic with a 2.2-litre diesel engine (132PS/300Nm), paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the Bolero comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine (75PS/210Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual unit. They will be upgraded to comply with the upcoming Real-Driving Emission (RDE) standards.
