Maruti Suzuki Has Sold More Than 10 Lakh Eeco In India!

The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has crossed the cumulative sales milestone of over 10 lakh units in India, becoming the highest-selling van in the country. It was introduced in 2010 and currently dominates the segment with a share of over 94 percent.

The first 5 lakh units of the Eeco were sold by Maruti Suzuki in 8 years, while the second 5 lakh units were sold in just 5 years. The carmaker currently offers it in as many as thirteen variants, including 5-seater, 7-seater, Cargo, Tour and Ambulance.

In its current-generation avatar, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco is a petrol-only offering, featuring a 1.2-litre K-series engine that makes 80BHP at 6,000 rpm and delivers a fuel efficiency of 20.20kmpl. It can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit that makes 71BHP and claims a fuel efficiency of 27.05 km/kg.

As for features, it gets a powered steering wheel, reclining front seats, manual AC, a cabin air filter, along with safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, seat belt reminder and much more.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Eeco dominates the van segment with over 94% market share. It has been the trusted choice of over 10 lakh customers, adapting to their evolving needs over the years. Interestingly, the first 5 lakh sales milestone for Eeco took 8 years, while the next 5 lakh sales milestone was achieved in less than 5 years, speaking volumes about the quality, trust, and reliability it brings to the table. We thank our customers for their faith in us, making Eeco the preferred choice of customers, and the highest-selling van in the country.”

The Maruti Eeco is currently priced between Rs 5.25 – 6.51 lakh (both ex-showroom). It has no immediate rival in the Indian market.
