Jeep Compass and Meridian Get New Club Edition

American carmaker Jeep has launched a new Club Edition for the Compass and Meridian SUVs in India. The new edition is limited to the base-spec diesel trim levels of the respective SUVs and carries a few cosmetic differences.

By these prices, the Jeep Compass Club Edition is Rs 10,000 more affordable than the Compass Sport diesel variant upon which it is based. The difference is huge in the case of the Jeep Meridian Club Edition as it is Rs 2.35 lakh cheaper than the Meridian Limited diesel trim.

Jeep Compass and Meridian Club Edition – What’s Special?

Well, nothing much. These Club Edition models get minor cosmetic differences from their respective standard models. Having said that, they feature an exclusive graphic on the bonnet and a ‘Club Edition’ badging on the tailgate. No other changes have been made to their visual appeal.

As for features, the Club Edition variants come equipped with LED headlamps, alloy wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, 360-degree surround view system, hill hold assist and much more.

At the heart of the Jeep Compass and Meridian Club Editions is the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that makes a maximum output of 170PS and 350Nm. You will only get a 6-speed manual transmission with the Club Edition variants. The convenience of an automatic transmission, which is offered with regular variants of these SUVs is not available with the Club Edition trims. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine option is also not available with the Jeep Compass Club Edition.
