Maruti Suzuki has received a satisfactory response for the 5-door Jimny as the purpose-built off-roader has received over 5,000 bookings in just one week from its official unveiling on January 12, 2023. The SUV will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa outlets. Its prices are likely to be revealed by May this year.
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be sold in just two variants: Zeta and Alpha. Powering it will be a 105PS 1.5-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. An AllGrip Pro 4×4 drivetrain will be standard, with a low-range transfer case.

In terms of styling, the Indian-spec Jimny looks similar to its global version, but it has 5-doors instead of two. However, it’s still a four-seater offering with an extended wheelbase for added legroom and more luggage space. Speaking of the features, the SUV comes loaded with automatic headlamps with washers, alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, power windows, a colour TFT multi-information display in the instrument cluster, auto AC, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, up to 6 airbags, ESC, hill hold assist, hill descent assist, brake assist and much more. Expect the Maruti Suzuki Jimny to be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be rivalling the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. Currently, both these SUVs come in a 3-door avatar; however, their 5-door versions are in the works.
