Bookings For Citroen eC3 To Start From This Date

After tons of leaks and spy images, Citroen has finally taken the wraps off its first electric offering for the Indian market, the eC3 electric cross-hatchback. Similar to its ICE version, it will be offered in two variants: Live and Feel. Bookings for the EV will commence on January 22, while its prices will be announced in February 2023.

What Powers The Citroen eC3?

Citroen has offered the eC3 with a 29.2kWh Lithium-ion battery pack paired with a 57PS/143Nm electric motor that drives the front wheels of the car. This setup enables the electric hatch to do the 60 kmph sprint from a standstill in 6.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 107 kmph. It is claimed to deliver an ARAI-tested range of 320 kilometres on a full charge.

Charging Time

Using a DC fast charger, the Citroen eC3 can be energised from 0 to 80 per cent in 57 minutes. On the other hand, a regular 15 AMP plug-point home charger will take approximately 10-11 hours to top up from 10 per cent to 100 per cent.

With regards to Citroen’s public charging infrastructure in India, the carmaker has partnered with Jio-BP.

Design and Features

Design-wise, the Citroen eC3 looks largely similar to its ICE counterpart, except for a few visual changes, such as a white finish for the roof, ORVMs, side cladding & fog lamp surround. However, you can opt for the orange surround with the Vibe Pack.

Citroen eC3 interior

The interior of the eC3 is again similar to its ICE sibling save for a new toggle switch replacing the gear lever. As for features, the EV gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ‘My Citroen Connect’ connected car technology, four speakers, a digital instrument cluster, manual AC, keyless entry, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBS and rear parking sensors.

Colour Options

Citroen’s eC3 EV will be available in four monotones and nine dual-tone exterior paint options. Polar White, Platinum Grey, Zesty Orange, and Steel Grey are the available base colours. The dashboard, on the other hand, will get two trim options: Anodized Grey and Anodized Orange.

Warranty

The Citroen eC3 will come with a 7-year / 1.4 lakh km coverage for the battery, 5-year / 1 lakh km for the motor and 3-year / 1.25 lakh km for the vehicle. Extended warranty packages will also be on offer.
