Hero Vida Scooter V1 Pro and V1 Plus Variants Explained

Vida, Hero MotoCorp’s new EV sub-brand, has launched its debut product in the Indian market, the V1. It comes in two variants: V1 Plus and V1 Pro. The latter flaunts a larger battery pack and better performance. Let’s go through the difference between the two variants in detail.

Price

Hero has priced the Vida V1 Plus at Rs 1,45,000, whereas the V1 Pro costs Rs 1,59,000 (both prices ex-showroom, including FAME II subsidy), making it Rs 14,000 costlier than the entry-level variant.

Battery Pack, Range and Performance

  • Hero has offered the Vida V1 Plus with a 3.44kWh removable battery pack that claims an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of 143km per charger. On the other hand, the top-spec Vida V1 Pro gets a bigger battery pack of 3.94kWh, claiming a slightly better IDC range of 165km.
  • Both variants are powered by the same hub-mounted motor, which makes 6kW of peak power and 3.9kW of continuous grunt. Despite that, the V1 Pro can accelerate from 0-40kmph in just 3.2 seconds, whereas the V1 Plus takes 3.4 seconds for the same. However, at 80kmph, both variants have the same top speed.

Colour Options

Hero offers the Vida V1 Plus in three colour options: Matte Sports Red, Matte White, and Gloss Black. The Vida V1 Pro also gets all the aforesaid colours, along with the Matte Abrax Orange shade.

Apart from these dissimilarities, both variants are the same in every other area, including design and feature front. And thus, it really questions the value proposition of the V1 Pro.
