Tata Harrier Facelift Spied; Likely To Get Radar-based ADAS

There has been no major update to the Tata Harrier since it went on sale in 2019. But confirmed by the recent spy shots, it will soon receive a facelift update, probably in early 2023.

2023 Tata Harrier Facelift – What do the spy shots reveal?

In spite of the heavy camouflage, there were a few changes evident on the test mule. The front fascia of the SUV was thoroughly redesigned, featuring a revived grille & air dam with horizontal slats, a new lighting system, and radar placed in the center of the lower air dam, suggesting that it will get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which will probably include auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, lane-keep assist and blind spot detection, etc. However, the circular lights placed on the bumper will not be a part of the final model.

While the side profile is yet to be revealed, the rear looks largely unchanged. However, the outline of rear the bumper looks slightly different from the current model.

The interior of the facelift Harrier is also under wraps. But it is also expected to receive minor revision and new features like a bigger infotainment system, 360-degree camera and a digitised driver’s display.

We do not expect any changes beneath the hood. That said, it is likely to get the same 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine (170PS/350Nm) as the ongoing model, paired with either a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic transmission. Tata is also rumored to be working on the electric version of the Harrier that is likely to be showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo.

Currently, Tata Harrier costs between Rs 14.7 lakh and Rs 22.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Expect its facelifted version to command a significant price premium over the ongoing model. Once launched, it will continue to lock horns with the MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700, Jeep Compass, and select variants of Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
