Mahindra XUV400 EV Likely To Be Launch On This Date

Mahindra & Mahindra has recently revealed its five upcoming electric SUVs based on its all-new INGLO EV platform. The first of these electrified SUVs will hit our shores in December 2024, but before that, the carmaker is gearing up to launch an electric version of the XUV300 that will be called ‘XUV400’. Earlier it was expected to arrive in early 2023, but now reports suggest that it could possibly be launched on September 6, 2022.

The Mahindra XUV400 will share its underpinning with its ICE counterpart. However, it will be around 4.2 meters in length, approximately 200mm longer than the XUV300. Hence, it is likely to offer better cabin space than its traditional model.

Design-wise, the XUV400 will carry forward most of its design cues from the XUV300 except for some EV-specific modifications such as a closed-off grille, reworked bumpers & alloy wheels, and a redesigned lighting system. It could also sport plenty of blue highlights to indicate its electrified nature.

Inside, the dashboard design could be slightly revamped along with the addition of a larger touchscreen infotainment system featuring Mahindra’s Adreno X UI. It could also be equppied with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Speaking of the powertrain, Mahindra is expected to offer the XUV400 with two advanced high-density Lithium-ion NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery pack options that will transmit the charge to its single motor placed on the front axle.

Expect the prices of Mahindra XUV400 to start from around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it against the likes of Tata Nexon EV.
