2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto Spied Undisguised; Launch Soon

We all know that Maruti Suzuki is working on the next-generation iteration of Alto. And recently the upgraded hatchback was spied undisguised during a commercial shoot, implying its launch is just around the corners.

2022 Maruti Alto – What does the spy image reveal?

The latest spy shots reveal the rear profile of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto, featuring a new tailgate design with refreshed wraparound taillamps and updated bumpers. Keen eyes could also notice the silver-colored wheel caps.

While the dimension of the car is yet to be revealed, it looks bigger than the existing model. It is expected to be based on the brand’s new Heartect platform that also underpins the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

2022 Maruti Alto launch date

Going by the previous spy images, the upgraded Maruti Suzuki Alto will also receive new sweptback headlamps, a reworked sculpted bonnet, and a new grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern. Inside, the hatch is expected to feature a revised dashboard layout, as well as rear power windows, day/night IRVM, a multi-function steering wheel, and an all-new instrument cluster.

Engine and Transmission

Beneath the bonnet, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto is likely to retain the ongoing 0.8-liter petrol engine (48PS/69Nm), mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It could also receive Celerio’s new 1.0-litre DualJet Dual-VVT K10C petrol engine with an optional AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
