Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Updated For 2022

  • Gets a new K-series DualJet engine.
  • Mileage improved by 14 percent.
  • Automatic variants benefit from ESC and hill-hold assist.
  • Prices are up by Rs 70,000.

After revising the variant lineup of S-Presso last week, Maruti Suzuki has now updated the hatch with a new powertrain and a slew of new features. With this, the prices of the rugged-looking hatch have also gone up by up to Rs 70,000.

2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso – What’s New?

More Fuel Efficient Engine

For starters, the updated Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will now be driven by the next-gen K-Series 1.0-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine that makes 66PS of maximum power and 89Nm of peak torque. The same engine also powers the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and WagonR. Compared to its previous K12B 1.0-liter petrol engine, it generates around 2PS/1Nm less output, but thanks to the idle start-stop system, it is claimed to deliever a fuel efficiency of up to 25.30kmpl, around 3.6kmpl more than the previous model.

The brand is likely to offer a factory-fitted CNG kit soon.

Better Comfort, More Safer

As for features, the 2022 Maruti S-Presso receives electrically adjustable ORVMs for Vxi+/Vxi+(O) variants and Electronic Stability Control (ECS) with hill-hold assist for all the AMT trims. It also gets a new cabin air filter. Besides, features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, manual AC, remote keyless entry, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, etc., continue on offer.

In the Indian market, it goes up against the Renault Kwid.
