Hyundai IONIQ 6 Streamliner Electric Sedan Teased

Hyundai has teased the IONIQ 6 electrified sedan for the first time, which the Korean carmaker calls an electrified streamliner. While the teaser doesnโ€™t reveal anything about the upcoming EV except its smooth streamlined silhouette, which is essential for low drag that further contributes to the high energy efficiency.

The production-spec Hyundai IONIQ 6 is expected to take its design inspiration from its โ€œProphecyโ€ concept EV that features a single curve streamline which extends from front to rear with minimalist restraints, providing superior aerodynamics. It is expected to be based on the brandโ€™s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) platform that also underpins several other Hyundai Groupsโ€™ EVs, including the Ioniq 5 midsize crossover that is scheduled to be launched in India in the upcoming months.

Expect Hyundai to equip the IONIQ 6 with a 77.4kWh battery pack, along with the option of dual-motor AWD or single-motor RWD powertrain. Similar to the IONIQ 5, it is likely to offer a range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge and will support ultra-fast DC charging of up to 220kW that will be capable of energizing its battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
