Mahindra Born EV SUV Concepts To Be Unveiled On Independence Day

Mahindra & Mahindra has revealed that it is going to globally unveil the ‘Born EV’ range of electric SUVs in concept avatar on 15th August 2022 in the United Kingdom. The brand has already teased the exterior and interior of the upcoming concept vehicles and more details are said to be shared via official teasers from July onwards. Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming electric concept SUVs: –

– The Born EV range will be based on an all-new dedicated BEV platform.

– Mahindra has also recently signed an MoU with Volkswagen to see if it can use MEB electric components such as electric motors, battery system components, and battery cells, for its new Born Electric Platform.

– The upcoming models will be designed by Mahindra’s UK-based MADE (Mahindra Advance Design Europe) division that is headed by Pratap Bose.

– All three upcoming Born EV SUVs could belong to a different segment, i.e, a compact SUV, a midsize SUV, and an SUV coupe.

– They are likely to be based on new design philosophy and will feature a C-shaped lighting system, aerodynamically styled alloy wheels, and sloping rooflines.

– Like the recently unveiled Tata Curvv and Avinya, Mahindra’s upcoming concept EVs will also feature rear cameras instead of traditional ORVMs.

– Inside, the SUVs will sport a futuristic minimalist dashboard layout. There will be a fighter jet-like wraparound cockpit design with the driver seat surrounded by a red-colored thick panel that integrates AC vents within the center. The other notable elements will include an aircraft-styled throttle lever (read as drive selector), a rotary knob on the center console, modernistic bucket seats with wraparound headrests, XUV700-like dual-screen setup, a quirky hexagonal-shaped multi-function steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof.
