Honda City Hybrid (e:HEV) – What’s New?

Strong Hybrid Powertrain

For beginners, the Honda City e:HEV gets a 109PS electric motor, mated with a 98PS 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC Petrol engine, delivering a combined output of 126PS/253Nm, and a claimed mileage figure of 26.5kmpl. This strong hybrid vehicle also consists of a motor-generator (linked to the engine) that energies its 0.784 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and helps the sedan to run on pure electric propulsion as well (at city speeds only). However, it is worth noting that the sedan automatically switches between the three driving modes: pure EV, hybrid, and engine-only. Improved Safety

Honda has also equipped the City Hybrid with the camera-based advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) called ”Honda Sensing” which comprises active safety features like road departure mitigation, collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and high-beam assist.

In addition, the electrified sedan also receives an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function. This will also be available with regular City’s ZX trim.
