Tata Curvv Electrified SUV Coupe Revealed In Concept Avatar

  • Based on an advanced version of the brand’s existing ICE platform.
  • It will be powered by an improved version of ZIPTRON technology that will offer a claimed range between 400-500 kilometers.
  • An ICE version is also under consideration.
  • Launch by 2024.

Tata Motors has finally unvield its upcoming electrified SUV coupe cherished as ‘Curvv’ in a production-ready concept avatar. It will be launched in 2024 and will be positioned above the Nexon EV in Tata’s existing product portfolio.

Tata Curvv – Platform, Powertrain, and Range

The Tata Curvv will be based on the Generation-2 EV platform, which is essentially derived from the brand’s ongoing ICE architecture. This new EV podium is quite advanced, flexible, and capable of offering multi-powertrain options.

While the technical specifications of the Curvv are still under the wraps, Tata claims that it will come with an advanced version of ZIPTRON technology with a better range (between 400 to 500 kilometers), and improved charging capabilities. It will also feature multiple levels of regenerative braking, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging technology.

The homegrown carmaker will also introduce its ICE version at a later stage.

All Generation 2 Tata EVs will feature multiple levels of regenerative braking.

In terms of styling, the Tata Curvv concept sports brand’s latest digital design language. It has some prominent recognizable traits such as the sporty-looking large front bumper with triangular-shaped LED headlamps, and a sleek LED light bar covering the width of the car. Tata claims that these new DRLs will be offered with all generation 2 EVs. It has a distinct SUV-coupe-like silhouette and the sporty bends in the profile give it a muscular physique.

At the back, the raised tail height, massive blacked-out bumper with prominent lines, and LED taillight strip complement its overall appeal.

Some Generation 2 models will also be offered with an ICE powertrain. However, the Generation 3 models will be pure electric.

Tata Curvv Interior

While the exterior of the Tata Curvv concept broadly appears production-inclined, the cabin design looks futuristic. It features a two-spoke steering wheel and two large free-standing screens for infotainment and instrument cluster, respectively. The digital driver display has been angled in such a way so that it can minimize the deviation from the driving line of sight. The other notable elements include touch-based climate control functions and a rotary knob on the center console presumably for drive selection.

Currently, Tata has two electric vehicles in its lineup, the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, and the brand aims to introduce at least 10 new electric models in its lineup by 2025.
