Select Maruti Suzuki Nexa dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings for the 2022 Baleno facelift ahead of its expected launch in next month. It will be the first major update for the premium hatchback since its market debut in 2015. The production of the new Baleno has already been begun at its Gujarat factory.

The upgraded Maruti Suzuki Baleno will get a slightly revised exterior, along with a completely overhauled interior design as well as a bunch of new features.
Starting from the exterior, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will feature a bolder-looking revised front grille flanked by new L-shaped wraparound LED projector headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps. Changes will also be made to the clamshell design of the bonnet and the front & rear bumpers. Additionally, the rear will also get a new lighting setup that will now extend to the tailgate.
While the side profile of the car will remain largely unchanged, the front & rear fenders will be updated to accommodate the new head & tail lamp. Furthermore, the brand is also likely to improve the sheet metal quality, which is a major concern with the current model.

The 2022 Maruti Baleno will get a newly designed dashboard, featuring a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system at the center (probably of 8″). If reports are to be revealed, the upgraded hatch will also receive a host of premium features such as wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a heads-up display (HUD), up to 6-airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and more.
While the new Baleno is likely to retain its ongoing 83PS 1.2-litre K12B and 90PS 1.2-litre Dualjet Dual-VVT (with a 12V mild-hybrid system) petrol engines, its CVT automatic transmission option could be replaced with an AMT unit to keep the prices in check.
The new Baleno is likely to bear a premium of around Rs 60,000 over the current model that retails from Rs 6.14 lakh to Rs 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom, India). When launched, it will rekindle its rivalry with the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, Tata Altroz, and Volkswagen Polo.
