2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Unlikely To Hit Our Shores Anytime Soon

  • Deliveries of new-gen Toyota Land Cruiser are delayed by up to four years owing to shortage of parts in Japan.

Globally debuted in June 2021, the new-gen Toyota Land Cruiser won’t come to the Indian market anytime soon as the luxurious SUV is commanding a waiting period of up to 4 years in international markets.

Giving an insight into the situation, Toyota Japan has issued a statement saying that:-

Thank you for considering and ordering our vehicle. We sincerely apologize for the fact that Land Cruiser has been very well received not only in Japan but also around the world, and it is expected that it will take a long time to deliver it after receiving an order.

The delivery time for ordering from now on may be about 4 years. We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time of our customers, and we appreciate your understanding.

The unwanted situations erupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted the carmaker’s supply chain in Japan, resulting in a shortage of parts. Due to this, Toyota Japan has also stopped production of its several models until January 24.

2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series – A Quick Brief

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series comes with significant design updates, new powertrains, along with a long list of premium features. The brand has managed to shade out 200kg, achieved a lower center of gravity, improved frame rigidity & suspension structure.

Based on a new GA-F body-on-frame platform, the full-size luxury SUV comes with two twin-turbo V6 engine options: 309PS/700Nm 3.3-litre diesel and 415PS/650Nm 3.5-litre petrol. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup that transmits force to all four wheels.

2022 land cruiser specs

For off-roading performance, Toyota has tweaked its suspension setup. The brand has also introduced a new Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) that adjusts the connection of the anti-roll bars. Besides, it also gets Multi-Terrain Monitor and Multi-Terrain Select system. While the Multi-Terrain Monitor is a camera-based terrain monitoring system that immediately displays obstacles as viewed from the driver’s viewpoint, the Multi-Terrain Select system, on the other hand, automatically picks the most suitable driving mode by auto-evaluating road conditions.

The other notable features of the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 include a floating infotainment system, keyless entry & go, driving modes, multiple airbags, and Toyota Safety Sense active safety package with an advanced pre-collision system and a new Parking Support Brake.
