Facelifted Skoda Kodiaq SUV Sold Out For Next 4 Months

Highlights: – 

  • Bookings for the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq are still underway; however, one will have to wait for at least four months to get the delivery.
  • Its huge demand could be due to its value-for-money proposition.
  • Brough via the CKD route, the 7-seater premium SUV retails from Rs 34.99 lakh to Rs 37.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • The SUV is available in three variants: Style, Sportline, and L&K. A sportier RS version could be introduced later.
  • Powering the new Kodiaq is a 190PS 2L petrol engine, mated to a 7-speed DSG.

Skoda Auto has launched the facelifted Kodiaq on January 10, 2022. And in less than 24 hours, the premium SUV has been sold out for the next four months. However, interested customers can still make the bookings for a token of Rs 50,000. 

The 2022 Skoda Kodiaq comes in three variants: Style, Sportline, and L&K, which are priced from Rs 34.99 lakh to Rs 37.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to its previous model, the upgraded SUV has received some notable cosmetic changes such as a new grille, redesigned alloy wheels, revised bumpers, new head & tail lamps, etc.

Inside, it gets a new two-spoke steering wheel, revised upholstery, 10-colour ambient lighting, ventilated & heating functions for the front power seats, and an upgraded 12-speaker Canton sound system with a subwoofer. The other prominent features of the new Kodiaq include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, a digital driver’s display, and multiple drive modes. It also gets Dynamic Chassis Control, which permits the user to adjust the dampers according to their preferences for added convenience.

Passenger safety is ensured by nine airbags (standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill descent control, electric parking brake with auto hold, front & rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. 

The most crucial update for the new Skoda Kodiaq comes in a form of a new 190PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the older 150PS 2.0-litre diesel unit. This new mill drives all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). 

The facelifted Skoda Kodiaq locks horns with the petrol variants of Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
