Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Likely To Launch On January 10

Skoda is keen to welcome the new year with the launch of facelifted Kodiaq. If reports are to be believed, it is likely to be launched on January 10. Production of the SUV has already begun at its Aurangabad facility, and unofficial bookings are underway for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

The Kodiaq facelift is expected to be offered in three trims:  Sportline, Style, and Laurin & Klement (L&K). Compared to its pre-facelift model, the upgraded SUV will receive a host of cosmetic changes along with the addition of a few new features and a more powerful petrol engine.

Starting with the visual differences, the 2022 Kodiaq will receive a revised grille, new LED headlamps with crystalline effect, redesigned alloy wheels, new LED taillamps, and refreshed bumper at both ends. Changes on the inside are likely to be seen in the form of a two-spoke steering wheel, powered front seats with ventilation and memory functions, 10-colour footwell LED ambient lighting and an updated sound system.

Powering the SUV will be a new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol mill (190PS/320Nm) that will replace the older 2.0-liter diesel motor (150PS/340Nm). Transmission duties will be taken care of by 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), mated to an all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD).

The Skoda Kodiaq facelift is expected to be priced from around Rs 35 Lakh (ex-showroom), competing with the petrol variants of Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
