Bookings Open For 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200

Triumph has started accepting bookings for the all-new Tiger 1200 in India. Revealed earlier this month, the upgraded Tiger 1200 will be available in five variants, namely:  GT, GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer. Interested customers can configure their preferred variant online with a choice of over 50 genuine accessories.

The 2022 flagship Tiger is based on a newly developed lightweight chassis with a bolt-on subframe, suspended on Showa's semi-active suspension (electronically-controlled) that has been tuned differently for GT and Rally trims to suit their purposes. Triumph claims that the new Tiger 1200 has shed off 25kg than its predecessor.

Powering the upgraded Triumph Tiger 1200 is a new 1160cc inline-triple cylinder engine that makes 150PS at 9,000rpm and 130Nm at 7000rpm, a gain of 9PS and 8Nm from its previous model. It uses the T-plane triple crank that offers improved low-end grunt, traceability, and a strong top-end response thanks to its uneven firing order. Besides, the new powerhouse also gets a lightweight and lower-maintenance shaft drive system.

Design-wise, the new flagship ADV features a new fascia that is quite similar to that of the Tiger 900. It gets a full-LED headlamp with horizontal daytime running lamps, an adjustable windshield, 20mm wider handlebars, and reworked body panels. Features onboard include a 7-inch TFT display with My Triumph connectivity, six riding modes, Adaptive Cornering Lights, Cornering Traction Control with IMU, Triumph Shift Assist, Hill Hold Control, electronic cruise control, heated grips, keyless riding system, Blind Spot Radar System, tire pressure monitoring system, and heated seats. Expect prices of the new Triumph Tiger 1200 to start from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete with the BMW R 1250 GS and the Ducati Multistrada V4.
