Audi India has started local production of the new Q5 SUV at the Volkswagen Group's Aurangabad-based plant. While the brand is yet to reveal its launch date, it is likely to arrive in November 2021. Once launched, the SUV will resume its competition with the BMW X3, Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60.

The new styling touches on the 2021 Q5 start-off with a fresh facia, starring a larger front grille with vertical slats, a new set of headlamps, and a revised bumper. It will also feature redesigned alloy wheels, side sills, new LED tail lamps, and a reworked rear bumper with a new horizontal diffuser and twin exhausts.
Changes on the inside will be quite minimal in the form of Audi's latest MMI-UI-based 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital driver’s display with new graphic layouts, and connected car technology. Besides, it could also get Amazon's Alexa virtual assistant, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a premium sound system, wireless smartphone charger, and powered front seats.
Beneath the hood, it will employ the same 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine (245PS/370Nm) as the Audi A6. It is likely to be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), powering all four wheels. The Q5 should also be specced with adaptive air suspension as an option.
