BMW Motorrad India has launched the C 400 GT maxi-styled scooter in India at an introductory price of Rs 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it the most expensive scooter in the country. It could be a suitable option for those who are looking for a premium urban mobility vehicle.

Powering the BMW C 400 GT is a 350cc 4-valve water-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 34PS of maximum power at 7,500rpm and a peak twist of 35Nm at 6,000rpm. The horsepower is transferred to the rear wheel via a Stepless CVT automatic transmission. BMW claims that C 400 GT is quite agile and dynamic through traffic and delivers outstanding performance on any road surface. Further, the e-throttle grip (ride-by-wire) technology ensures smooth throttle response even at low speeds. It can attain a top speed of 139 kmph.

As for the aesthetics, the new C 400 GT seems to take inspiration from the RT-series bikes, featuring very aggressive styling. It has a sharply designed V-shaped front panel with a prominent full LED multi-array twin-headlamp setup. In addition, it also gets LED daytime running lamps for better visibility & safety, a long windshield, and highly ergonomic seats for rider's convenience.

The other notable features of the BMW C 400 GT include keyless ride technology, a full-color TFT-LCD display with BMW Motorrad Connectivity, keyless ride technology, USB charging sockets, flexcase storage compartment, self-calibrating ASC (automatic stability control), etc.

Underpinned on a steel tube construction, the scooter uses a 15-inch aluminium cast wheel at the front and a smaller 14-inches at the rear for increased storage space. Suspension duties are performed by 35mm telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable double spring struts with a double aluminum swingarm. For braking, it employs twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear with a dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System, traction control, and ride modes.

BMW C 400 GT is available in Style Triple Black and Alpine White tones.

Commenting on its launch, Mr Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said –

The launch of the all-new BMW C 400 GT heralds a new era in the urban mobility segment in India. This progressive and agile midsize scooter is designed to conquer the city and long touring destinations with ease. Whether riding into the city centre, travelling to the office or enjoying a weekend tour, the all-new BMW C 400 GT is the perfect partner to enjoy riding to the fullest – not just alone, but with a passenger too.
