Tata Motors has officially unvield the Punch micro-SUV in the Indian market. Bookings for the car are now officially open for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Price announcement and deliveries for the new model are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
Tata Punch – Design & Features
Designed and developed on the ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible & Advanced) architecture, this entry-level SUV takes its design cues from the Harrier and Nexon SUVs, especially on the front. It features Harrier-like split headlamps setup, whereas its glossy black finished humanity grille will remind you of the sub-4m Nexon SUV. Similar to the Harrier, there's also the plastic body cladding on the bumpers.
Head to the side and you will notice its boxy silhouette with the tapering roofline, robust roof rails, and chunkier wheel arches with prominent cladding that gives it a proper SUV-like appeal. At the back, it features tri-arrow taillights and a sculpted tailgate.
The cabin of the Tata Punch looks quite attractive thanks to its uncluttered layout and dual-tone grey-&-ivory theme. Features onboard include Altroz’s borrowed 7-inch free-standing infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, iRA connected car technology with What3Words & Natural Voice tech, a semi-digital instrument cluster, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel, cruise control, automatic projector headlamps (halogen), rain-sensing wiper, and Altroz’s 90-degree-opening doors. It also gets two driving modes – City and Eco, whereas its automatic (AMT) model will also get the segment's first TractionPro Mode, which is claimed to make the driving experience trouble-free when using it in difficult driving circumstances.
The safety kit, on the other hand, comprises dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, electronic stability control, ISOFIX seat anchors, speed alert system, and rear parking sensors with a camera.
