Hyundai Casper, the upcoming Tata Punch rivaling micro-SUV has been spied numerous times during testing, but now we finally have its official images. These exterior pictures reveal how the final version of the Casper will look like.

The outer design of the Hyundai Casper is unique and attractive. Like the latest Hyundai models, it also features a split-LED headlamp set-up with the LED DRLs positioned on either side of a gloss-black closed-off strip with the Hyundai logo in the centre. Below it, there's a rectangular-ish front grille with triangular elements that comes in either a gloss-black or silver finish, depending on the variant (Standard and Active). The former comes in finished in black with quirky design elements that mimic the circular headlamps.

Another interesting element is its faux skid plates that also integrate the central air dams. Besides, there is a prominent black cladding that starts from the corners of the front bumper and runs along the sides and rear of the SUV.

From the sides, one can notice the boxy and upright silhouette that gives it a mini-SUV-like appeal. It features uniquely designed 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels housed in flared wheel arches, roof rails, and C-pillar door handles. Also, the window lines for the front and rear are separated.

At the back, it gets an upright tailgate design with triangular elements-forming rings in the LED tail lamps, whereas the indicators and reversing lamp are housed separately in circular housings in the bumper, complementing the overall design.

As far as its dimensions are concerned, the smallest Hyundai SUV will be 1,595mm wide, 1,575mm tall, and 3,595mm long with a wheelbase of 2,400mm (identical to Hyundai Santro).

The interior of the Hyundai Casper is yet to be revealed, but the earlier spy shots have already exposed that it will get white color leather upholstery. A closer look at the above images also acknowledges the presence of a large floating touchscreen infotainment system, sharkfin antenna, and a single-pane sunroof.

Powering the Korean-spec Hyundai Casper will be the 76PS 1.0-liter naturally aspirated and 100PS 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engines, paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. However, its India-bound model is expected to get Grand i10 Nios’ 1.2-liter petrol (83PS/114Nm), 1.2-liter diesel (75PS/190Nm), and 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol (100PS/172Nm) engines.

The Hyundai Casper will first go on sale in South Korea in the coming months, while its India launch is expected in 2022. It will be positioned below the Venue sub-4m SUV in Hyundai's line-up, and will lock horns with the Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and the upcoming Tata Punch. Its prices are expected to start from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
