Tata Tiago Gets A New XTO Variant At Rs 5.47 Lakh

Tata Motors has silently expanded the variant lineup of its popular Tiago hatchback with an all-new XTO variant. Priced at Rs 5,47,900 (ex-showroom), the Tata Tiago XT (O) variant lies between the base-spec XE (Rs 4,99,900) and XT (Rs 5,62,900) trims, that makes it Rs 15,000 more cheaper than the XT variant.

Compared to the Tiago XT, the XTO trim misses out on several features like rear park assist display, Harman music system, AM/FM, USB, speed-dependent volume control, and Bluetooth connectivity. It does, however, come equipped with steering-mounted audio & telephony controls, four speakers, manual AC, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, remote keyless entry, driver footrest, tilt-adjustment function for the steering wheel, multi-info driver's display, steel wheels with covers, body-coloured bumpers & door handles, follow-me-home headlamps, etc.

Safety, on the other hand, is taken care of by dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, puncture repair kit, pre-tensioner & load limiter for seat belts, over-speed alert, day/night IRVM, rear parking sensors, and more.

Beneath the bonnet, the Tiago XTO houses the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine as the other variant that delivers 86PS of max power and 113Nm of peak torque. Similar to the XE variant, this too only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the AMT trim will be available from the XT variant. Similar to the Tiago XE, this too only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the AMT unit continues to be available from the XT variant.

In other updates, Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its first micro-SUV, based on the HBX concept. It is expected to be launched near the festive season. It will also be powered by the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the Tiago. However, it might also get a 100PS 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill that currently powered the Altroz premium hatchback. In the Indian market, the Tata HBX will rival the Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT
