BMW 5-Series Facelift Launched, Price Start From Rs 62.90 Lakh

BMW India has launched the facelifted iteration of the 5-Series at a starting price of Rs 62.9 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three variants with three engine options. The brand has also stated that those customers who will book the M Sport trims of the Luxury sedan before 24th July 2021, can avail discounts of up to 50 per cent on select M Performance accessories. Now, have a look at the variant-wise price details: –

2021 BMW 5 Series Facelift – Updated Variant Line-Up 

With the facelift update, the brand has discontinued the entry-level 530i Sport variant from S-Series's lineup. The 530i MSport is the new base variant for the BMW 5 Series, which has become costlier by Rs 1.40 lakh from the pre-facelift model. On the other hand, the 520d Luxury Line and 530d M Sport variants carry a premium of Rs 2.40 lakh and Rs 2.80 lakh respectively, over the outgoing model. 

2021 BMW 5 Series Facelift – What's New?

The updated BMW 5 Series has received some design tweaks, especially at the front. It features a chrome-finished traditional kidney grille, which is wider and positioned lower than before. It also gets quad-LED beams BMW Laser lights with L-shaped integrated DRLs, refreshed LED taillamps, and redesigned bumpers at both ends. Besides, the M Sport variants also get privilege from the automaker’s M Aerodynamic package that includes sportier bumpers, large air intakes, front grille detailing in gloss black, M badges on the fenders, gloss black detailing around the windows, racy M Sport alloy wheels, double-sided trapezoidal tailpipes, and M Sport brake with blue M Sport callipers.

It also gets two new body paint schemes – Phytonic Blue and Bernina Grey Amber.

Dimension-wise, the upgraded 5 Series is 27mm longer than the previous model; however, the other dimensional parameters remain unchanged.

Inside, the cabin of the new 5 Series is largely similar to the previous model except for a few changes such as a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen BMW live cockpit display (replaced the older 10.23-inch unit), a new climate display, revised materials, and a new gloss black finishing on the centre console. Other key features include 12.3-inch fully-digital driver's display, gesture control, four-zone climate control, BMW display key, variable ambient lighting in six colours, electric adjustment with memory for the front seats, Apple Carplay & Android Auto support, Harmon Kardon's 16-speakers surround sound system, 360-degree camera with parking & reversing assistant, wireless charging, remote control parking, head-up display, multiple driving modes, electric sunroof, powered tailgate with kick-to-open function, and more. In terms of safety, the 5 Series sedan gets six airbags, ABS with brake assist, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, traction control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, lane-keeping assist, and lane changing assist. 

Additionally, the M Sport variants also get M specific features like M leather steering, illuminated M door sills, sportier front seats, Aluminium Rhombicle Smoke Grey M interior trim strips with Pearl Chrome accent, etc.
