2021 Honda Gold Wing – Powertrain & Underpinnings

Powering the Honda Gold Wing is the same 1,833cc 24-valve liquid-cooled horizontally-opposed flat six-cylinder engine (over 13 pounds lighter than the previous generation) as the previous model that belts out 126.44PS of max power at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170Nm at 4,500rpm. As mentioned above, the transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission (with slipper-&-assist clutch) and a 7-speed DCT automatic with electric reverse gear. The power mill is placed in a diecast aluminium twin-spar frame, hung on the double-wishbone front suspension and a monoshock (with four electronically adjustable preload settings) at the rear, mounted to the single-sided swingarm. Shedding speed on the new Honda Gold Wing is a pair of 320mm front discs with 6-piston calipers and a 316mm disc at the rear paired with three-piston calipers, assisted by a dual-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS).

The bike tips the scales at 357kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 21-liters. The seat height of this Japanese tourer is as low as 745mm, which is ideal for a bike of this segment.

The Gold Wing Tour continues to get a long list of premium features such as a 7-inch full-color TFT display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay smartphone integration support (through a Type-C USB cable), all-LED lighting system, Throttle-By-Wire technology, four-rider modes (TOUR, SPORT, ECON & RAIN), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), cruise control, self-cancelling indicators, heated seats & grips, Smart Key (enables for the keyless opening of panniers and trunk), and a top box at the rear. The DCT-equipped version, on the other hand, also gets an airbag, idling Start/Stop function, and “Walking Mode", which lets riders creep it forward under power at a walking pace.

2021 Honda Gold Wing – Color Options

The Indian-spec Gold Wing gets two color options: Pearl Glare White for the manual variant and Gunmetal Black Metallic/Matt Morion Black for the DCT trim.
