Hyundai Motors India will be launching its all-new Alcazar on 18th June 2021. Bookings for the mid-sized SUV are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000. It is basically a three-row version of the Hyundai Creta, which will rival the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700

Hyundai has made some cosmetical changes on the Alcazar's exterior to distinguish its styling from the 5-seater Creta. Included in the few differences are of course a redesigned grille with chrome studded elements (extends to the headlamps unit) in place of a chrome slatted grille in the Creta, reworked bumpers at both ends with new fog lamps housings, silver skid plates, and twin exhaust pipes. Other key exterior highlights are stretched rear overhang with a new quarter glass, bigger alloys, and a refreshed rear profile comprising of an upright rear-end, and conventional-looking split-LED tail lamps that are connected by a thick chrome bar with ‘ALCAZAR’ inscribed on it.

The new Alcazar interior design looks similar to that of the Creta, with 6-&-7 passenger seating as the obvious difference. It also gets a distinct black-&-brown dual-tone cabin theme and a plethora of additional comfort features over the Creta like front seatback table with retractable cup-holder & tablet holder, sliding sun visor in the front row, side footstep, one-touch tip & tumble seats along with a unique floor-mounted armrest in the 2nd-row (exclusive for 6-seater variant), a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and puddle lamps with logo projection, etc.

Hyundai has offered the Alcazar in six variants: Prestige, Prestige (O), Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature, and Signature (O). All the trims will get six monotone color choices to choose from – Phantom Black, Starry Night, Taiga Brown, Typhoon Silver, Polar White, and Titan Grey. The last two colors will also be available with an optional Phantom Black roof with select variants.

The Alcazar is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol (159PS/192Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. It will also get three drive modes (Comfort, Eco, and Sport), as well as three traction modes (Snow, Sand, and Mud).
