Hyundai Creta To Soon Get New Features

Kia India has recently launched the updated Seltos and Sonet. Now, its cousin brand, Hyundai Motors is also gearing up to update the Creta compact SUV with more features. Revealed by a leaked image, the 2021 Creta will soon get some new features as well as several features will be removed. If reports are to be believed, these changes will be performed based on customer's feedback and market trends. The updated Hyundai Creta is likely to be launched in the coming days.

While a few essential features will be removed from the entry-level E variant, the other trims will gain some very useful additions. The mid-spec EX and S variants will get wireless smartphone connectivity features, which is extremely helpful.

On the other hand, the top-spec trims- SX and SX (O) trims will get more feel-good features such as a soft paint finish on the dash, the remote engine starts/stop that will allow you to start & pre-cool the car before stepping inside the cabin, and the new connectivity options will further enhance the passenger's convenience with the addition of over-the-air (OTA) map updates, a welcome greeting that will also remind you to wear the seatbelt and new voice commands to control the power window, retrieving contact details, points-of-interest search, sports update, etc.

Besides, no other changes are expected to be made to the 2021 Creta. It will continue to get premium features like dual-tone alloy wheels, an all-LED lighting system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX anchorages, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors with camera, and many more.

Under the hood, the Creta will retain all the three existing engine options that include 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol (140PS/242Nm), 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS/144Nm), and 1.5-liter diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). While the turbo-petrol engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission) only, both these 1.5-liter units get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with individual automatic units for each – CVT for petrol and torque convertor AT for diesel.

The prices of Hyundai Creta were recently increased in April 2021. However, considering all the aforementioned tweaks, its prices are likely to receive another hike. As of now, it ranges between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 17.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and competes with the Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Maruti S-Cross, and the upcoming Skoda Kushaq & Volkswagen Taigun
