Next-Gen Nissan X-Trail Unveiled At 2021 Shanghai Auto Show

Japanese carmaker Nissan has finally unveiled the fourth-generation X-Trail at the ongoing 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. It gets refreshed design, new features, and an updated powertrain. Here're the quick points that will give you insights about the 2021 Nissan X-Trail: –

New Nissan X-Trail

  • Nissan X-Trail is known as Rogue in the American market, and the all-new X-Trail looks identical to its American counterpart.

  • It is based on a massively updated version of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's CMF-C crossover platform. Compared to the previous model, it gets a new styling and a fresh interior as part of its generation update. It features a large V-motion grille, split LED headlamp setup with sleek DRLs, definite front & rear haunches, a floating roof with an integrated spoiler, upright rear section, and sharp trapezoidal taillamps.

Nissan X-Trail features

  •  Heading to the interior, it gets a refreshed dashboard layout, featuring a fully digital instrument cluster and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display. The other notable features include a 10.8-inch head-up display, rotary dial for off-roading modes, triple-zone automatic climate control, active noise cancellation, and ProPilot semi-autonomous driving function, etc.

  • Technical details of the X-Trail are yet to be announced, but it is confirmed that it will get the brand's e-Power hybrid system with all-wheel drive.

  • Nissan’s e-POWER technology features a 100% electric motor-driven system that delivers responsive acceleration, smooth deceleration, and quietness similar to an electric vehicle while removing the need for external charging thanks to an onboard gasoline engine that charges the battery pack when necessary.

  • If reports are to be believed, it will borrow its powertrain setup from the Nissan Qashqai that comes with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine along with a front axle-mounted electric motor that develops a combined output of 190PS and 320Nm.

Nissan X-Trail India launch date

  • The all-new Nissan X-Trail will be launched in China in the second half of 2021. There is no official announcement regarding the 2021 X-Trail's India launch. However, the second-gen X-Trail was available in our country till 2014.
