Isuzu To Launch All-New V-Cross And V-Cross Hi-Lander Pretty Soon

Japnese automaker Isuzu Motors has teased the BS6-compliant D-Max V-Cross pickup truck on its official website, suggesting that the launch is just around the corner. The brand has also confirmed that besides the regular V-Cross, it will also get a new D-Max Hi-Lander trim, which is likely to be the base-spec variant of the V-Cross and unlikely to get any design changes over the previous model. For the people not in know, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross pickup was discontinued last year when the BS6 emission norms kick in.

The Hi-Lander pickup truck is likely to be powered by a 1.9-liter diesel engine as before with a 6-peed torque converter automatic transmission along with RWD and 4WD configuration options. While the engine specifications are yet to be revealed, we do not expect any changes to its engine output. For reference, its BS4 iteration was used to produce 150PS and 350Nm. However, this time the brand could also offer a 6-speed manual gearbox with this engine. Besides this, Isuzu could also introduce a new 3.0-liter diesel engine, which is expected to replace the older 2.5-liter diesel engine (134PS/320Nm).

While details are scarce about top-spec V-Cross, the entry-level D-Max Hi-Lander will get identical exterior and interior to the BS4 model. In terms of features, it will get a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls, climate control, front armrest, adjustable headrests, seatbelt pre-tensioner with load limiter, alloy wheels, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, rear parking sensors, and many more.

Expect the 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross to be priced at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over its BS4 version, which was priced between Rs 16.55 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It has no direct competitor in the Indian market.
