Here's A Clear Look At the Next-Gen Mahindra XUV500's Interior

The next-generation iteration of the Mahindra XUV500 is the most awaited SUV of the year. And the anticipation is increasing with every new spy shot coming to the light. Recently, a new set of spy images have been surfaced online, giving us a clear view of the interior.

Mahindra XUV500 cabin

The cabin of the updated XUV500 is much more premium than ever. It will get a dual-tone dashboard dominate by a Mercedes-inspired twin-screen setup, comprising the touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display. It will also get a memory function for driver’s seats for the very first time. The memory function switches will come surrounded by a faux open-pore wood finish, which gives it a luxuriant appeal.

The spy shots also reveal that the 2021 XUV500 will also get a new multifunction steering wheel, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, engine start/stop button, wireless mobile charging pad, automatic gearbox, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function and a rotary dial probably for driving mode selection. Besides this, it is also expected to get a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, multiple airbags, and level-1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) tech, which includes features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Park Assist.

Mahindra is likely to offer the XUV500 in both 6-and 7-seater configurations.

The new XUV500 in all likelihood will borrow its mechanicals from the second-generation Thar that includes 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, albeit in a more powerful tuning. The transmission duties are expected to be handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The diesel mill could also get an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system option.

Courtesy of all these premium features, the new XUV500 is expected to be priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It is likely to be launched by mid-2021, followed by the next-gen Scorpio. In the Indian market, it will continue to rival the MG Hector Plus, Jeep Compass, and the newly launched Tata Safari
