The Facelifted Mini Countryman Is Finally Here

Mini has launched the facelifted version of the second-generation Countryman SUV in the Indian market. It is priced at Rs 39.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Countryman comes with a refreshed styling and some added features. It will be offered in two petrol variants: Cooper S and Cooper S JCW Inspired. The brand has axed the Cooper S Diesel from its variant line-up. Here’s the complete variant list with their revised prices: –

2021 Mini Countryman Facelift – Design & Features

The 2021 Countryman gets some cosmetic updates that are mainly focused on the front. It comes with a redesigned and bigger black-finished grille, new LED headlamps, and Union Jack patterned tail lamps. It also gets a revised bumper at both ends with blacked-out design elements and a new set of alloy wheels (17-inch for the base-spec Cooper S and 18-inch for the JCW Inspired). Besides these elements, the rest of the design remains similar to the previous model.

On the side, everything is identical to the pre-facelift model save for the new gear lever and the 5.5-inch digital driver’s display. The top-spec Cooper S JCW Inspired trim also gets a new Chester Malt Brown and Leather Chester Satellite Grey upholstery as well as paddle shifters. Further, customers can also choose from the Excitement pack which comes with ambient lighting and a puddle lamp.

As far as the features are concerned, the 2021 Countryman SUV gets an all-LED headlamp with LED DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display, powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, wireless charger, etc. Safety is taken care of by dual front airbags, ABS with cornering brake control, brake assist, electronic stability control, and crash sensor.

Colors Options

The facelifted Countryman is offered in a total of 6 shades that includes Sage Green (new), White Silver (new), Midnight Black, Chilli Red, Island Blue, and British Racing Green.

2021 Mini Countryman Facelift – Powertrain

The Countryman draws its power from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol that good enough in producing 192PS of power and 280Nm of torque. Unlike the previous model's 8-speed automatic gearbox, the facelifted countryman gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It also gets two driving modes: Sport and Green. In the Sport mode, this Mini compact SUV reaches the 0 to 100kmph mark in just 7.5 seconds.

In the Indian market, the Mini Countryman takes on the likes of BMW X1, Volvo XC40, Audi Q2, and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA.
