2021 Bajaj Platina 110 Launched With Single-Channel ABS, Price Start From Rs 65,920

Bajaj Auto has just launched the new top-ranging variant of Platina 110 commuter motorcycle with single-channel ABS (Antilock Braking System) at Rs 65,920 (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes Platina the only bike in the segment to features an ABS unit. In fact, it has become the most affordable motorcycle in the Indian market with this safety aid. This is a pleasing move from the Indian bike manufacturer as the law only bounds motorcycles above 125cc displacement to have ABS as standard.

Besides the ABS unit, the new Platina 110 also gets some minor improvements over the previous model. The bike now comes with new rear-view mirrors, which are claimed to offer better visibility. The brand has also added a set of translucent handguards for improved safety. However, it seems like an aesthetic addition more than a utilitarian thing. Save for these aforementioned touches, nothing has changed in the motorcycle. It continues to be powered by the same 115.45c fuel-injected, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes out 8.6PS at 7000rpm and 9.81Nm at 5000rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission.

The underpinnings of the bike include a telescopic fork up front and twin Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. The braking setup includes a 240cc disc brake at the front with single-channel ABS and a 110mm drum unit at the rear.

Other notable features of the Platina 110 ABS include a quilted seat, alloy wheels with tubeless tires, LED DRL, and a semi-digital instrument cluster that gets an analog speedometer & an LCD screen, starring odometer, gear shift indicator, clock, fuel gauge, low battery & service due indicator, and two trip meters.

Bajaj Platina 110 specifications

The Platina 110 ABS is approximately Rs 1,600 more expensive than the Platina 110 H-Gear. The bike is available in three new color options – black, red, and blue. In the 110cc segment, the Bajaj Platina 110 rivals against the likes of Hero Splendor iSmart, TVS Star City Plus, Honda Dream Yuga, Hero Passion Pro, and TVS Radeon.

In the other news, Bajaj has also launched the updated Bajaj Platina 100 ES (electric start) at Rs 53,920. Earlier, it was priced at Rs 59,859 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
