Indian-Spec Nissan Magnite Is As Safe As Indonesian Version

Nissan Magnite is one of the most affordable subcompact SUVs available in the Indian market. It comes with many premium features and reliability of 4-star safety rating that its Indonesian version has received in the ASEAN NCAP crash test. Recently, in a tweet's reply, the Japanese maker has confirmed that the Indian-spec Magnite is also as safe as its Indonesian counterpart.

For the people not in know, the Nissan Magnite had received 39.02 points for adult occupants' safety, 16.31 points for child occupants, and 15.28 points for safety assist. In total, it scored 70.6 points, fetching a 4-star overall safety rating. However, it is important to note that the crash-tested Magnite was having dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), rear parking sensors, front seatbelt reminder, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. These features also come standard with the India-spec model, except for the ESC and ISOFIX anchorages which only come with the turbocharged/top-spec variants. Besides this, the Indian-spec Magnite also gets a 360-degree camera, vehicle stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill start assist with turbo spec trims.

Nissan offers the Magnite in five trim (XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, XV Premium (O)), and with two petrol engine choices- a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated (NA) and a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 72PS and 96Nm, whereas the turbocharged engine makes out 100PS and up to 160Nm. Both these engines get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The turbocharged engine also gets a CVT automatic option.
