Tata Tiago is one of the most successful hatchbacks in the Indian market. Launched in 2016, it had received a facelift update last year in January month. And now, on its one-year completion, the brand has released a new teaser with a tagline that reads 'Adventures Filled with Unlimited Fun'. Tata has also announced that this new model of Tiago will be launched tomorrow.
While the brand hasn't shared any other details regarding the new Tiago, our dealer sources have confirmed that the carmaker is likely to launch a new limited-edition model. It is likely to be based on XT trim and will feature 14-inch black finished alloy wheels, a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3D navigation through Navimaps, rear parking assist with a display, voice command recognition, and rear parking shelf over the regular trim.
Other features remain similar to the standard model, which mainly includes manual AC, digital instrument cluster, tilt adjustment for a multifunction steering wheel, all four power windows, power-adjustable wing mirrors with LED turn indicators, dual-tone tri-arrow design fabric upholstery, central locking, 4-speakers, integrated spoiler with spats, and many more. Safety feature on offer includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, follow-me-headlamps, seat belt with pre-tensioners & load limiter, speed sensing auto door locks, front seat belt reminder, over-speed alert, etc.
The Tiago Limited Edition is unlikely to get any mechanical changes. It will continue to come with the same 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol mill as the regular XT trim. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, it makes 86PS of max power and 113Nm of peak torque.
The Tiago Special Edition is expected to be priced at a minor premium over the standard XT variant, which retails at Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue to compete with the likes of the Datsun GO, Hyundai Santro, Maruti WagonR, and Celerio.
