2021 Tata Safari Interior Revealed Ahead Of Its Official Unveiling Tomorrow

Tata is all set to unveil its all-new Safari flagship SUV tomorrow. While its exterior design has already been revealed through official images, the interior images of the car have been leaked online.

As expected, the 2021 Tata Safari's interior looks identical to the Harrier SUV save for the third row and an all-new Oyster White-Black dual-tone interior theme with ash-wood inserts on the dashboard. This new interior shade not only looks premium but also gives the cabin an airy feel. It is likely to come in both 6-& 7-seater seating options.

The spied model is the XZA+ automatic 6-seater trim, which features two captain seats in the second row. An electronic parking brake can also be seen on the center console tunnel. The other new features that the Safari will get over the existing model of Harrier include an iRA connected car technology that will be certainly more advanced than any other Tata cars. It has been divided into 5 categories of Safety & Security, Remote Commands, Alerts & Notification, Over the Air updates, and Health check. The key connected tech features comprise a remote control for various car functions, geofencing, live tracking, trip details, vehicle health, idle alert, panic notifications, over the air (OTA) software updates, and custom message for the instrument cluster, and many more.

Besides this, it will also get natural voice control support with Hinglish commands compatibility and the 'What 3 Word' function. The iRA connected techs will come with a 1-year free subscription from the date of purchase.

Apart from the above-mentioned features, the upcoming Safari will retain all the whistle & bells of the Harrier SUV like an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Apple Carplay & Android Auto connectivity, JBL sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a semi-digital instrument cluster, powered driver seat, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs, bi-Xenon headlamps, LED DRLs, and dual-tone alloy wheels. We believe the new Tata Safari could also get a wireless charging pad, and a powered tailgate.

Safety, on the other hand, will be covered by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold control, hill descent control, rollover mitigation, and disc brake wiping, etc.

The powertrain options will also be similar to the Harrier, preserving its 2.0-liter Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) with a 6-speed manual & torque converter automatic transmission options. Tata could also bring an AWD drivetrain and petrol engine option in near future, depending on the customer's demand.

Bookings of 2021 Tata Safari have already commenced unofficially for a token amount of Rs 51,000. Official bookings are likely to start from the day after tomorrow. With prices likely to range between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Safari SUV will rival the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, and the upcoming 7-seater Hyundai Creta.
